BERNSTEIN Itskhok (bürgerlicher Name Ignaz) (1836, Winniza - 1909, Brüssel), Ethnograph, Folklorist. R. in der Familie eines Bankiers. 1856 ließ er sich in Warschau nieder. Seit 1859 beschäftigte er sich ernsthaft mit der Sammlung und Aufzeichnung von Folklorematerial und vor allem Sprichwörtern und Sprüchen der in der Region lebenden Juden. Teile Europas. 1908 veröffentlichte er eine eigene Sammlung von rd. Viertausend Sprichwörter und Sprüche sowie die Volkssammlung "Erotica" und "Rustica".

From 1859 he seriously engaged in the collection and recording of folklore material and, first of all, the proverbs and sayings of the Jews who lived in the region. parts of Europe. БЕРНШТЕЙН Ицхок (наст. имя Игнац) (1836, Винница – 1909, Брюссель), этнограф, фольклорист. Р. в семье банкира. В 1856 поселился в Варшаве. С 1859 серьезно занялся сбором и записью фольклорного материала и, в первую очередь, пословиц и поговорок евреев, проживавших в разл. частях Европы. В 1908 издал отдельным сб-ком ок. 4 тыс. пословиц и поговорок, а также фольклорные сб-ки «Эротика» и «Рустика».
