the Revisionist organ, Malhut J Israel—all weeklies. The Youth Association issues the monthly Hanoar, the Keren Kayemeth the children's magazine Haaviv. There are no Jewish papers that are non-Zionist. The Hebraising movement is making progress among the youth, especially since Palestinian delegates of the various Youth Organisations are remaining permanently in the country. In some towns instruction is given by Hebrew teachers from Palestine. In the Union of the Jewish communities of Jugoslavia Zionist influence commues to be undiminished. B.—SEPARATE UNIONS. Union of the Jewish Socialist Labour Confederation POALE-ZlON AND HlTACHDUTH. The changes that have taken place in the movement during the period under review prove to what extent the principles preached by the Union have penetrated the Jewish masses. Already the elections to the 18th Zionist Congress demonstrated the popularity of the Union, which gained about 250,000 votes, 115,000 in Poland .alone. The process of growth has since become even more obvious, for the ideas of the Union have, spread into circles which have heretofore kept altogether aloof from the movement. The Zionist Socialist movement has become particularly active in Poland, where it has gained the adherence of large Jewish labour masses, and has thus become strengthened not only numerically but also qualitatively. The circles that for decades kept away from the Zionist movement, being often animated even by enmity towards it, and which were entirely dominated by the anti-Zionist labour organisation, " Bund," are daily coming nearer to the Zionist- Socialist conception and joining the ranks of the Union Poale-Zion —Hitachduth. The new adherents prove by their keen interest in all branches of Zionist activities, such as the Zionist Funds, Congress problems, and general Zionist problems, the enormous change of mind that has taken place in the attitude of the masses to the Zionist movement. The skilled labour organisations that have been recently formed in Poland, and particularly " Haoved," the labour organisation of skilled workers and artisans, who prepare themselves also intellectually for Palestine, already play a very important rôle in the activities for the Keren Kayemeth and also for the Keren Hayesod. On the other hand, the Zionist Socialist movement has also to register some setbacks. The victory of anti-Socialist movements in some countries has brought ruin to the Zionist Socialist organisations that existed there. They are condemned to inactivity and in the present conditions prevailing in those countries there is hardly any room for development.
