Carlo Friedmann, was responsible for the 5694 campaign. In 5695, the Keren Hayesod drive was considerably delayed owing to the Keren Kayemeth appeal on behalf of the King Alexander Forest. Mr. Moses Waldmann has been launching this year's campaign, preceded by a propaganda tour of Mr. Carlo Friedmann. Messrs. Z. Rosenberger, Eng. Leo Freier and Dr. Isak Amar are members of the Control Commission. Switzerland.—Dr. W. Wreschner continues as President of the Central Committee with Dr. Georg Guggenheim as Vice-President, most actively assisted by Mrs. Wreschner. Dr. Zwi Wilenski, former delegate of the Head Office, now working in Germany, has been succeeded by Dr. B. Weinert. Dr. A. Hantke, Mr. Kurt Blumenfeld, Dr. Nahum Goldmann and Dr. O. Wolfsberg, paid visits to Switzerland during the period under review. Argentine.—The Campaign of 1933 had served the interests of both the Keren Hayesod and the Settlement of German Jews in Palestine, and had been headed by Mr. N. Gesang, President of the Zionist Federation, assisted by a number of active members, of whom the present Director of the Keren Hayesod Office, Mr. S. Rabinowitch, deserves special mention. The 1934 campaign started simultaneously in the Province of Entre Rios and in the southern part of the Republic, Mr. Abraham Lutzky being responsible for its direction in the first-named Province and Mr. B. Shelman in the South. In the city of Buenos Aires, Messrs. S. Rabinowitsch and Mr. M. Shenderai inaugurated the campaign at a mass meeting in July, 1934, the important cities of the Province being worked by Messrs. Dr. W. Nichenson, M. Rosofsky, A. Lutzky, B. Kilow, J. M. Dlugawitzky and Dr. L. Rosenberg.' The 1935 campaign started in the Province of Entre Rios in January of that year, and the following month in the South, Messrs. Lutzky and Shelman again taking charge of the region they had worked before. The results to date are satisfactory, inasmuch as they show an increase in the number of contributors, as well as a 30 per cent, increase in the amount of contributions. Several of the most important parts of the country have not yet finished their campaigns, but it is already evident now that the results of last year will be exceeded. A Keren Hayesod Conference, which was held at the end of April and which was very well attended, elected a new Committee, at the head of which stands Mr. S. Rabinowitsch, the members being Messrs. M. Rosofsky, S. Yankilewitsch, J. Rensin, Rabbi D. Molier, A. Gorodetzky, Muni Abraham, A. Schottlaender, S. Krainowitsch, Dr. Spanier and B. Goldenberg. Brazil.—For local reasons the Keren Hayesod campaign could only start towards the end of 5694. It lasted until the end of 5695, with Mr. M. Shenderai, of Buenos Aires at its head. His itinerary included Rio de Janeiro and San Paolo and environs. Southern Brazil was worked by Mr. Liberow. Mr. J. Karakuschinsky is Chairman of the Keren Hayesod Committee. L34
