" Land of Promise," of which English, Hebrew, and German versions are ready, and Yiddish, French, and Polish will also soon be completed. Exhibitions. Jointly with the Keren Kayemeth Leisrael, the Keren Hayesod for the first time in its history occupied a pavilion at the Levant Exhibition and Fair of 1934, exhibiting a series of artistic diagrams, pictures, etc. The centre of the pavilion was occupied by a symbolic figure of gigantic size designed by Ben Zwi. The same pavilion was used for the Keren Hayesod exhibits of pictorial diagrams and models at the Bialik Exhibition in May, 1935. In 1934, the Keren Hayesod participated for the second time in the Bari Fair with a display of coloured pictorial diagrams, illuminated slides, etc. Similar Keren Hayesod exhibits were shown in a special Palestine Pavilion in the World Exhibition in Brussels (1935). During the tourist season of 1935, photographic diagrams illustrating the development of the country were on show in the Keren Hayesod Conference Hall. Press and Bulletins. At regular intervals the Head Office provided its Committees with statistical and other informative material, in addition to circulating the Jewish Agency Bulletins to the same addresses. So far, eleven of such Bulletins have been published. During the period under review, the Head Office sent out some 150 articles in Hebrew, Yiddish, English, French and German to the press, supplemented by numerous articles by journalists, or distributed through the medium of the Keren Hayesod Committees. Since the establishment of " Palcor," the Head Office has supplied the New York branch with English and Yiddish publicity material regularly every week. In addition to the verbal information given to journalists at the Head Office, two press conferences have been held, one at Haifa and one in the new premises of the Keren Hayesod in Jerusalem. Zionist Information Bureau. During the past two years there has been a very considerable increase in tourist traffic and, consequently, in the tasks the Bureau is called upon to perform. No longer does if suffice merely to try and introduce some Jewish points of call into the itineraries of non-Jewish groups of visitors. The tourist traffic itself has to be organised. On December 1st, 1933, Dr. Werner Bloch took over the management of the office. Before the beginning of each season, the office tries to obtain advance information regarding the forthcoming visits of groups and prominent individuals. It organises collective and individual tours up and down the country and arranges receptions in honour of the visitors. The Bureau maintained a special information service at the Levant Exhibition and Fair, 1934 in Tel Aviv. During the season of 1935 provisional offices were opened in Haifa and Tel Aviv. In Kantara, an official of the Bureau is stationed all the year round. The Guide to New Palestine has been issued in a revised and enlarged edition in English, French and German. 129 9
