САМОЙЛОВ Александр Филиппович (наст. имя и фам. Александр Фишелевич Шмуль) (1867, Одесса – 1930, Казань), физиолог. Д-р медицины (1891), проф. (1903). Брат Я.В.Самойлова. Окончил 2 курса естеств. отд-ния физ.-матем. ф-та Новороссийского ун-та (Одесса) (1886) и мед. ф-т Дерптского ун-та (1891). Работал в лаб. И.П.Павлова в Ин-те эксперим. медицины в Петербурге (1892–94) и И.М.Сеченова в Моск. ун-те (1894–1903). В 1903–30 проф. кафедры зоологии, сравнит. анатомии и физиологии Казанского ун-та и одноврем. (с 1921) проф. физиологии Ветеринарного ин-та и физ.-матем. ф-та 1-го МГУ (с 1924). С. – один из основоположников эксперим. электрокардиографии (ЭКГ). Организовал первые в России кабинеты ЭКГ (в Казани и Москве). Впервые в России применил ЭКГ для иссл. больного сердца (1909). Один из авторов теории хим. передачи нерв. импульса. Эксперим. доказал (1927, совм. с М.А.Киселевым) гуморальную природу торможения в центр. нерв. системе. Изучение С. кольцевого ритма возбуждения сердца способствовало разработке метода дефибрилляции желудочков при мерцательной аритмии. Первым в России и одним из первых в мире применил изобретенный Швейггером струнный гальванометр для изучения функций скелетной мускулатуры. Автор работ по истории физиологии и физиол. теории музыки.
