БИЛЯВИЧУС Элиас (1904, Волковышки Сувалкской губ. – 1986, Вильнюс), гос. деятель, прозаик, публицист. В 1926 окончил Коммунистич. ун-т нац. меньшинств Запада. С 1927 – чл. ЦК Компартии Литвы. В 1928–31 находился в заключении. С 1932 в СССР. Работал в моск. центр. евр. газ. «Дер эмес». В 1936 вышли в свет его восп. «За решеткой». С 1941 – нарком пищевой пром-сти ЛитовССР. Во время войны 1941–45 служил в Литов. штабе пар-тиз. движения. В 1944–49 – зам. секр. ЦК КП Литвы. В 1949–51 – зав. отделом ЦК. В 1951–53 – мин. рыбной пром-сти, в 1953–57 – пищевой пром-сти ЛитовССР, в 1957–61 – зам. пред. СНХ ЛитовССР, 1955–63 – деп. ВС ЛитовССР. Публиковался на идише, рус., литов. яз.
