V. VOLODARSKY (real name and surname Moisey Markovich Goldstein) (1891, Ostropol Volyn province - 1918, Petrograd), polit. activist. R. in poor Heb. family. Expelled from the 5th grade of the gymnasium, received no other education. From 1905 p. Bund, member. RSDLP (b) since 1917. Was repeatedly arrested. From 1911 to 1913 he was in exile in the Arkhangelsk province, then emigrated to the USA, where he stayed until the spring of 1917. He took part in the events of 1917 in Petrograd, after the revolution - Commissioner for Press, Propaganda and Agitation Petrograd. Council, ed. "Red gas." Elected member. All-Russian Central Executive Committee. Killed on the way to a rally.

Allrussisches Zentrales Exekutivkomitee. Auf dem Weg zu einer Kundgebung getötet.

С 1911 по 1913 был в ссылке в Архангельской губ., затем эмигрировал в США, где пробыл до весны 1917. Участвовал в событиях 1917 в Петрограде, после рев-ции – Комиссар по делам печати, пропаганды и агитации Петрогр. Совета, ред. «Красной газ.». Избирался чл. ВЦИК. Убит по дороге на митинг.
