The number of students in the institute in 5694 was 172, as compared with 127 in 5693, and in 5695 the number amounted to 230, about half of whom were attending the first course. The 102 students registered in 5694 are distributed according to countries of origin as follows : Russia, 9; Palestine, 3; Lithuania, 7; Finland, 1; China, 1; Poland, 54; Germany, 9; Jugo-Slavia, 1; Austria, 1; Bulgaria, 3; Rumania, 9; Egypt, 1; Czecho-Slovakia, 1; Latvia, 2. Total 102. The students registered in 5695 are distributed according to countries of origin as follows : Russia, 2; Germany, 9; Latvia, 9; Greece, 1; Holland, 1; Poland, 113; Lithuania, 8; Canada, 1; Czecho-Slovakia, 1; Palestine, 22; Rumania, 9; Turkey, 1; Bulgaria, 1. Total, 178. 3. Graduation Examinations. Graduation examinations for cycle 6 were held in March, 1934, in accordance with the usual regulations, and with the participation of the Government departments of Education and Public Works. Out of twenty-one candidates, all of them building engineers, eleven passed. The number of graduates of the Institute now amounts to 70. The graduation examinations for cycle 7 took place in April, 1935. Fourteen students sat for the examination. The results have not yet been published. The position of the graduates of the Institute is highly satisfactory. All of them are employed in their respective vocations, most of them in the country, and several of them take a prominent part in building and architectural circles in Palestine. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Institute, which took place in January, 1935, it was announced in agreement with the Agency Executive and the Vaad Leumi that the title Engineer would be given to graduates of the Institute. 4. Teachers from Germany. The plan of the Administration of the Institute with regard to the enrolment of new teachers from Germany, which was drawn up in the year 1933, has only moderately been carried into effect. In view of its straitened economic position and its having no security for the future, the Institute could not assume additional obligations, without some outside assistance, for a definite transition period. However, the readiness of the Institute to absorb additional teachers from Germany has not been encouraged. Its appeal was answered only by the Central British Fund for German Jewry, which contributed during 5694 and 5695 £P. 1,250, by the Association of Jewish Communities in Italy, which contributed £P. 800, and by the Agency Department for the settlement of German Jews in Palestine, which in 5695 contributed £P. 200 for this purpose. The Institute has appointed during the last two years five professors and distinguished engineers from Germany, viz. : L. 4°3
