carried out by Dr. Fritz Ullman in the autumn of 1933, with the full support of our Organisation. The problem of immigration has occupied our Federation very closely since the last Congress. Our Executive has frequently addressed requests to the Immigration Department to furnish our country with a larger quota of certificates, but unfortunately without success. Owing to the increase of interest in Palestine there has been an increased demand for immigration certificates, which it has been impossible to satisfy. In response to our suggestion a Conference of Zionist representatives of Great Rumania was held in December, 1934, in Bucarest, at which Mr. Barlas, Secretary of the Immigration Department of the Executive, was present, and expression was given to the demands of the Rumanian Zionists of all parties. The Zionist Federation has devoted particular attention to the Youth work. For the last three years there is an organisation of the " Hanoar Hazioni " in Bukowina, and early in 1935 a new Youth organisation " Achduth " was created at the suggestion of our Executive, which is of a general Zionist character. The latter organisation has 8 branches with 350 members. " Hanoar Hazioni " has a scout character and comprises 9 branches with 700 members. Upon our initiative there was established a General Zionist Chaluz Organisation in 1933. In the years 1933-34 300 Chaluzim were put in training. The work of the Chaluz has been greatly supported by our Executive, and our organisation has subventioned the various training centres. Despite the fact that our organisation consists of General Zionists, .the other Youth organisations such as " Hashomer Hazair " and " Gordonia " have also been supported as far as possible. The co-operation of our organisation with the Separate Unions in this country in all branches of Zionist work has been harmonious. The WIZO has greatly extended its activity throughout the country and now comprises 21 groups. The Presidium of our Organisation consists of the following : Dr. Mayer Ebner, President; Dr. Theodor Weisselberger, Vice-President and ex-Chairman; Dr. Leon Schmelzer, Dr. Markus Kramer and Joseph Wiznitzer, Vice-Presidents. The members of the Executive are : Dr. Nachman Denker, Dr. Juda Ebner, Dr. Chaim Ehrlich, Dr. Moses Feller, Dr. Karl Klinger, Oskar Alper, Mendel Engler, Moritz Friedmann, M. Schindler, Leo Wiener, Maximilian Zwilling, Dr. Jacob Geller and Fraulein Klara Klinger. Transylvania. The Executive consists of the following : Ezekiel Brisker,. Paul Bergmann, Hillel Danzig, Julius Drechsler, Jakob Eppler, Izidor Grünberger, Else Handler, Rezso Kasztner, Sigismund Kugler, Dr. Ernest Lenart, Ludwig Mannheim, Izidor Marton, Dr. 235
