General Zionists held in August, 1934. That conference served as a great demonstration for General Zionism. In June, 1934, a meeting of the Executive from Central Europe was held in Cracow. This meeting was attended on behalf of the Executive of the World Zionist Organisation by Prof. S. Brodetsky. In his honour a large public meeting was organised, where he delivered an address on the political problems of the Zionist Organisation. President Sokolow visited West Galicia in connection with the Arlosoroff campaign. He took part also in the conference of Keren Kayemeth workers held in November, 1933. Dr. N. Goldmann visited Cracow twice in connection with the question of a Jewish Congress. In addition to his taking part in an internal conference he also delivered a public address, in which he stressed the importance of a Jewish World Congress. Dr. B. Mossinsohn visited Cracow on behalf of the General Zionist Organisation in Palestine and he too addressed a large public meeting. In November, 1934, the fiftieth anniversary of the Kattowitz Conference was celebrated in Kattowitz. The celebration was attended both by the members of the Executive, and by the President of the Organisation, Dr. Thon. In connection with this celebration a Jubilee brochure was published which had great propaganda value. The Zionist Society in Tarnow celebrated last year the fiftieth anniversary of its existence. This Society is one of the oldest and best in West Galicia. In honour of this event a Jubilee brochure was published, which will serve as an important document for the history of the Zionist movement in West Galicia. Also Nowy Sadz celebrated its thirty-seventh anniversary. 2. Youth.—The Youth Organisations have progressed during the period under review both in respect of membership and of organisation. The activities of the Organisation have penetrated to all classes of Jewish youth and have earned it considerable sympathy among the Zionist public. This organisation has for the last two years published a weekly called Akiba, which deals with all Zionist problems. It should be noted that this weekly, circulated in 3,000 copies, is admirably edited, and read also by the adult Zionist public. In addition to that the Akiba has been publishing a fortnightly for the juniors called Juniors. After the 18th Zionist Congress the Zionists in West Galicia proclaimed the Ussishkin campaign. According to the agreement arrived at in Prague between the representatives of the West Galicia Zionist Organisation and the K.K.L., the former undertook to collect a definite sum in order to enable one of the groups of the Akiba organisation to settle in Palestine on the land of the K.K.L.
