There are thirty constituent societies. There are also in Holland a local branch of the World Mizrachi Organisation, an independent Mizrachi Society (Torah Vezion) affiliated to the Federation, a Zionist Students' Organisation, and a Federation of Zionist youth which comprises all Dutch Zionist youth societies, including the Mizrachi societies, and numbers 1,350 members. The Federation of Youth also includes an organisation of General Zionist Chaluzim. All the Chaluzim organised in the Dutch section of the Hechaluz have recently joined the Dutch Zionist Federation. Negotiations are being conducted with the branch of the Poale Zion, which comprises about 200 members, with regard to its joining the Federation. There is a special society for the training of Palestine pioneers, which works in close co-operation with the Federation. The last Annual Conference of the Federation took place on December 25th and 26th, 1934, and was attended by 139 delegates. It dealt with the general situation of the World Organisation and the position in Palestine, carried out an alteration in its constitution, and elected a new Executive. The preceding Annual Conference, which took place on December 24th and 25th, 1933, and was attended by 127 delegates, decided to request the Executive of the Federation to communicate with the Executive of the World Organisation with regard to the inadequate realisation of the Palestine Mandate and adopted certain decisions regarding principles of organisation to be observed both in the World Organisation as well as in the Federation. From July 1st, 1933, until June 30th, 1934, altogether 267 meetings were held in Holland, partly for propaganda purposes and partly of an internal character. The following Zionist newspapers, all in Dutch, appear in this country : De Joodsche Wächter (weekly), official organ of the Federation; Mizrachie (monthly), organ of the Dutch Mizrachi; Baiereck (monthly), organ of the Zionist Students' Organisation and of the Zionist Youth Association for leaders; Tikwath Israel (monthly), organ of the Federation of Jewish Youth; H et Beloofde Lani (monthly), organ of the Keren Hayesod. Other journals that appear are Haischa (monthly), organ of the Jewish Women's Council; De Vrouw en ie Opbouw, organ of the Jewish Association for practical work in Palestine, both of which are favourably disposed to Zionism, and the monthly Koemï Orie, organ of the Poale Zion. The non-Zionist Jewish press in Holland comprises three newspapers and represents the orthodox standpoint : it is, with the exception of one paper that is generally neutral, adversely disposed towards Zionism. Shekolim are not sold in Holland, as the Federation, as well as the Mizrachi group, recognise only organised members. The total number of organised Zionists in Holland is now 3,130. In 218
