suspended its independent campaigns, and joined forces with the leaders of the community in the Second and Third Appeals on behalf of the Central British Fund for German Jewry. The Staff of the Keren Hayesod was once again placed at the disposal of the Joint Appeal, in which it has continued to play a significant rôle, as the results will have shown. This arrangement formed part of the Agreement between the Zionists and the non-Zionists by which, in return for this, as well as for the enormous services rendered to German immigrants in Palestine, through the institutions of the Keren Hayesod, the following allocations were made to the Keren Hayesod out of the three Appeals :—£23,000 out of each of the First and Second Appeals; £28,000 out of the Third Appeal. As it is not contemplated that there will be a Fourth Appeal on behalf of the Central British Fund for German Jewry, the Central Committee of the Keren Hayesod will devote the summer months to the preparation of a renewed campaign in England on behalf of the Keren Hayesod in the year 5696. J.N.F.—The year 5694 has been an outstanding one for the Jewish National Fund. The receipts in England have reached the highest level hitherto; in -1933 the total was £19,000; in 1934 the figure was £44,000. There has been an improvement in the work of the various J.N.F. Commissions, both in London and in the Provinces, and the Federation of Women Zionists have continued their, valuable co-operation, particularly in connection with Provincial Bazaars. The Federation of Synagogues demonstrated once more its whole-hearted co-operation by a donation of £250 to Kfar Ussishkin, and the Young Zionist Movement, the Poale-Zion, and the Mizrachi also participated in J.N.F. work. The appeal for Kfar Menachem Ussishkin raised £7,000, although the quota for this country was only £5,000. The great increase in the income of the J.N.F. was due to the number of successful functions held both in London and in the Provinces, and the box-collections have also shown an increase of about £900 in the past year. The J.N.F. Assurance Department can also report an increased activity, and is now represented in all Jewish centres in the country. The J.N.F. benefited from the Assurance Department in the following manner:—(1) Dividend in shares: £250, less tax; (2) Donation of £250 to Kfar Menachem Ussishkin; (3) Loans free of interest amounting to £260. The Zionist Federation again received a substantial grant towards its educational activities. Federation of Women Zionists.—The Federation of Women Zionists continues to impress upon its members the importance of participation in all Zionist activities, and plays an outstanding part in all general Zionist work. 214
