opinion, especially with regard to immigration into Palestine and the Legislative Council. The Synagogue Council has again proved of the greatest value in keeping close contact with Synagogues in London and in the Provinces, and in providing them with Zionist speakers during the High Festivals. Press.—The Zionist Revieiv was re-issued in March, 1934r under the joint editorship of Mr. Paul Goodman and the Rev. M. L. Perlzweig, with Mr. Gabriel Cohen as Associate Editor. As the official organ of the Zionist Federation it has been able to secure from Palestine and elsewhere authoritative articles relating to Zionist problems and developments in Palestine. The Zionist Review has fulfilled an important function in defining the Federation's attitude on important Zionist and communal problems. It is read not only by Zionists, but counts many non-Jews among its regular subscribers. Other English Zionist publications are the W.I.Z.O., and the Young Zionist. The Hechalutz Movement.—The frequently expressed desire of scores of young English Jewish men and women to settle in the colonies of Palestine as Chalutzim, has led to the establishment by the Zionist Federation of a Hechalutz Committee, under the Presidency of the Viscountess Erleigh, and the Chairmanship of Prof. Samson Wright. Early in 1934 fourteen boys and two girls, some of them German-Jewish refugees, were placed in training on two farms for a period of nine months, and at the conclusion of the period of training some of the German-Jewish Refugees and one of the members of the Histadruth Hechalutz B'Anglia were given immigration certificates, and have now settled in Palestine. The experience of training with farmers has not, however, been encouraging, and the Federation has therefore acquired a farm in Kent, and training will commence during the summer. It is intended to train twenty boys and girls on this farm at the outset, and to increase the number as soon as possible. Relations with the World Union of General Zionists.—Since the foundation of the World Union in 1931, its Executive^ has sought to secure the adhesion of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain ■ as a constituent body of the Union.
