interest of different groups and organisations in the task of national' land acquisition and in this manner also increasing our income. In spite of this increase in K.K.L. income, which is gratifying in itself, it cannot be considered adequate in view of the present situation in Palestine. On the one hand, the increased immigration creates an ever-growing demand for land, while on the other hand land prices have reached unprecedented figures. It is therefore necessary that the K.K.L. should receive a much higher income for the redemption of the land. The present situation demands that the K.K.L. be given the opportunity to utilise all possible means of collection, including large-scale campaigns, in order to increase both the amount and tempo of its income. Donations. Receipts during recent years were as follows : — £P. 5692 (1931-32) ...... 200,400 5693 (1932-33) ...... 218,344 5694 (1933-34) ...... 283,629 5693 (1932-33) therefore shows an increase of 9% as compared with 5692 (1931-32), and 5694 (1933-34) an increase of 30% as compared with 5693 (1932-33). 5694 (1933-34) represents a record year, exceeding the figures of 5685 (1924-25) and 5687 (1926-27), which were previously the highest. In the first seven months of 5695 (October, 1934—-April, 1935) receipts have risen by another 39%—£P.176,951, as compared with £P.127,529 during the corresponding period of last year. In the thirty-three and a half years of its existence (up to the end of April, 1935) the K.K.L. has collected £P.3,985,000. During the middle of May of the current year the four million pound mark was reached. The following table shows income from all sources during the last years :•— 5695 5693 5694 (7 months) £P. £P. £P.
