fested a vigorous activity in order to cope with the strong urge to Palestine prevailing among the Jewish masses. In Congress Poland, which—like all former Russian provinces—represents a difficult area in regard to organisation, the Federation continued its efforts to extend and strengthen its foundations. The withdrawal of the " Eth Livnoth " group is dealt with in cap. 10. In East Galicia an opposition group has been organised within the Federation, which, however, has remained in the Federation and worked in accordance with its laws. Shortly before the Congress Mr. Sprinzak succeeded in effecting a reunion of the parties in Old Rumania. The Federation of Greece has forged very intimate relations with Palestine through the removal of leading members and increasing emigration to that country. In October, 1934, it held a successful Conference in Salonica, which was attended by Dr. M. Helfman as representative of the Executive. The work in Yugo-Slavia has made good progress under experienced leadership. The three Federations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, in which modest but good work is done, decided at a conference held 1.5
