— 11 — Of the 39,250 certificates granted by the Palestine Government during the period under review, the Jewish Agency allocated 10,457 (26 per cent.) for German Jews, of which 2,541 (24.3 per cent.) were given to refugees. 4. The London Department was in constant touch with the Immigration Department of the Executive in Jerusalem, the Palestine Office in Berlin, and the Palestine Offices and Relief Committees in other countries in matters concerning the distribution of immigration permits to refugees. In addition, the department conducted extensive correspondence with hundreds of refugees who submitted applications direct to the London office. The London Department was in close touch with the Palestine Office of the Executive in London when distributing certificates to refugees in England and furnished them with advice. In this connection it was greatly assisted by Mr. J. Linton. III. INCOME AND EXPENDITURE OF LONDON DEPARTMENT. 14. Since the completion of the last financial report as at May 31st, 1936, the London Department received the amount of £30,850 12s. lid., of which £30,247.6.7.d came from the United States (balance of 1934 campaign) and £603.6.4d from Canada (balance of 1935 campaigns). These amounts were transferred to the Jerusalem Department, which later received all Central Bureau income directly during the above mentioned period. A statement of the income and expenditure of the London Department is given below.
