Notes: הספר כולל שלושה מכתבים, שניים מאת ונאובן ואחד מאת קולקוהון, בעניין הסדרה בחוק של התמיכה בעניי הקהילה היהודית. ונאובן כולל בטיעוניו, בין היתר, רעיונות שהושמעו בגרמניה בעניין "תיקון" היהודים (בעיקר ההיסטוריזציה של מצבם הירוד ושלילת הנימוק כי "פגמיהם" של היהודים נובעים מ"טבעם" או מחינוך לקוי). כפתרון לבעיית העוני הגוברת, הוא מציע הקמת מוסד לחינוך ילדי העניים משני המינים ומוסד לטיפול בחולים, בתמיכת הממשלה.
