General notes: כפי שסטנוב מציין בהקדמתו, מטרות אחדות שם לו בפירושו זה: "א' לא הלכתי בגדולות ובנפלאות ממני, ב' לא צללתי במי הפילסופי' עמוק מאור השכל, ג' לא סרתי מלכת בדרך המפרשים הישנים... ד' סדרתי פרקיו זה אל זה לידע ולהודיע כוונתו בפרק המיוחד להם..."
בסוף הספר: "פירוש מהמלות זרות אשר במאמר הנכבד מורה צדק". כפי שסטנוב מציין שם, "חובה על כל מחבר לפחת רוח חיים במליצותיו למען לא יהיה כדורש אל המתים". לכן הוא מביא רשימת מלים שהכין "הרב החכם ר' שמואל בר"י אב תבון מעתיק ס' המורה מערבי אל עברי בהיותו כמוכרח לחדש מלות זרות משקלי שמות ובניני פעלים חדשים בהעתקתו על כן הוכרח לפרש דבריו". סטנוב מקצר את דבריו הארוכים, ומוסיף אחרות, "ועוד ראיתי כי טוב להורות על מקומם במלות הגיון ולהעתיק רובי המלות ללשון אשכנז ולטיין, למען יבין המעיין ולא יתעה".
