ЗИВ Меер (наст. имя и фам. Нисон Пупс) (1892, Наварин – 1978, Москва), публицист, обществ. деятель. Род. в семье служащего. В годы 1-й мир. войны был чернорабочим в Риге и Вильне, участвовал в рев. движении. Журналист. деятельность начал в Вильне с очерка о беженцах из зап. пограничных обл., опубл. в виленском лит. сб. После рев-ции его избирают деп. в Виленский Совет рабочих деп. В 1920 переезжает в Каунас, где становится ред. евр. еженед. «Нае цайт», продолжает вести работу в профсоюзах, подвергается аресту. После освобождения переезжает в Берлин, где работает служащим в орг-ции «Междунар. кн.» С 1923 3., живя в Москве, работал в ред. газ. «Дер эмес», печатал ст., обзоры, фельетоны. Во время 2-й мир. войны 3. был в армии, а в 1945—48 работал в газ. «Эйникайт», органе Евр. антифаш. к-та. После ее закрытия 3. переезжает в Вильнюс.
