In 1920–39, it was in the Novogrudok Voivodeship, a part of Poland, in 1939–91, a part of the BSSR. In 1921, 86 Jews lived in Zh., In 1931 - c. 100 Jews. In 1865 Zh. Had a synagogue. The Jewish population of Zh. Was exterminated in 1942. @en
