ЗБАРСКИЙ Борис Ильич (Бэр Элиевич) (1885, Каменец-Подольский – 1954, Москва), биохимик, акад. АМН СССР (1944), Герой Соц. Труда (1945). Отец И.Б.Збарского. Окончил Женевский (1911) и Петерб. (1912) ун-ты. В 1916–18 работал в хим. пром-сти. В 1918 помогал А.Н.Баху в организации Центр, хим. лаб. при ВСНХ, где работал до 1929 (в 1921 преобразована в Хим. ин-т им. Л.Я.Карпова, с 1931 – в Физико-хим. ин-т им. Л.Я.Карпова), а в 1920 – в организации Биохим. ин-та Наркомздрава РСФСР, где работал до 1930 (с 1944 – Ин-т биохимии АН СССР им. А.Н.Баха). В 1930 организовал и возглавил Ин-т питания, зав. кафедрой биохимии (1930–34) и проф. 2-го Моск. мед. ин-та. Зав. кафедрой биохимии 1-го Моск. мед. ин-та. В 1945–52 рук. Лабораторией биохимии рака АМН СССР. Совм. с В.П.Воробьевым бальзамировал тело В.И.Ленина, бессменный дир. лаборатории при мавзолее В.И.Ленина (с 1924). В 1949 руководил бальзамированием тела Г.М.Димитрова. В 1952 арестован по ложному обвинению, в 1953 освобожден из заключения, в 1954 реабилитирован. Иссл. строение, биол. функции и обмен белков, изучал роль белков в питании. Тр. по онкологии. Выдвинул гипотезу о том, что в основе злокачественного роста тканей лежит нарушение процесса белкового синтеза. Стал, пр.
