- ЯВНИЭЛИ (Варшавский) Шмуэль (1884, Казанка Херсонской губ. – 1961), профсоюзный деятель, публицист. С 1905 – в Э.-И., был с.-х. рабочим, печатался в раб. периодич. изд., в т. ч. в «Га-Поэль га-Цаир». В 1911 по поручению Всемирн. сионистской орг-ции направлен в Йемен для изучения положения местной еврейской общины, убедил мн. йеменских евреев переселиться в Э.-И. Входил в Исполнит. к-т партии «Ахдут га-Авода», позднее – партии Мапай, участвовал в деятельности Гистадрута, работал в сфере соц. страхования. Автор работ по истории сионистского раб. движения, ред. соч. Б.Кацнельсона.
