ВОЛОСОВ Давид Самуилович (1910, Невель Витебской губ. – 1980, Ленинград), физик, специалист в обл. техники оптико-фотографич. систем. Д-р техн. наук (1948). Окончил в 1932 физ.-матем. ф-т Ленингр. пед. ин-та. Осн. тр. связаны с разработкой теории и методик расчета разл. классов оптико-фотографич. систем. В 1936 впервые предложил теорию и метод расчета сложных оптич. анастигматич. систем с переменным фокусным расстоянием, в 1947 – методы расчета сложных фотография, систем. В 50-е гг. создал теорию термооптич. аббераций. В. возглавлял науч. отд. в Гос. оптич. ин-те, с 1950 – проф., зав. кафедрой физики и прикладной оптики в Ленингр. ин-те киноинженеров, чл. Нац. к-та фо-тограммистов СССР, чл. редколлегии журнала «Оптика и спектроскопия», «Ж. науч. и прикладной фотографии и кинематографии». В 60-е гг. под рук. В. внедрены автоматизир. методы расчета и коррекции оптич. систем, созд. эффективные алгоритмы и программы для ЭВМ. Автор ст., монографий, более 150 изобретений. Лен. пр., Гос. пр. СССР.
