ВИГДОРЧИК Николай (Натан) Абрамович (1874, Минск – 1954, Ленинград), гигиенист, засл. деят. науки РСФСР (1946). Окончил мед. ф-т Киевского ун-та (1898). Участвовал в с.-д. движении: входил в руководство киевского «Союза борьбы за освобождение рабочего класса», в редакцию киевской «Рабочей газеты», был дел. 1-го съезда РСДРП в Минске. В 1899 арестован, после 7-месячного тюремного заключения работал фабрично-заводским врачом в Саратовской губ. В 1902—05 в ссылке в Енисейской губ., где работал сел. врачом. В 1905–06 совершенствовался в Берлине и Вене, изучая внутренние болезни ч. и вопросы социального страхования. С 1906 в Петербурге, где работал терапевтом в б-це Марии Магдалины (ныне им. Н.К.Крупской). В 1916 организовал первую в Петербурге лечебницу больничных касс и «Самопомощь». С 1918 работал в страховых орг-циях Петрограда и Иркутска. В 1924 создал кафедру проф. болезней в Гос. ин-те для усовершенствования врачей в Ленинграде, к-рой руководил до 1951. Организовал (1924) Ленингр. ин-т по изучению проф. болезней, к-рый возглавлял в 1931—50.Науч. тр. В. посвящены вопросам проф. болезней, гигиены труда и экспертизы трудоспособности. Исследовал влияние состояния здоровья при проф. отборе, соц.-экон. факторы работоспособности. Автор первой в России книги по соц. страхованию («Соц. страхование», СПб., 1912), а также руководств «Проф. патология» (1930), «Методика врачебно-страховой экспертизы» (1926). Разработал клинико-статистич. метод, применяемый в проф. патологии («Применение статистики в клинике», Л., 1945).
