ВАСИЛЬЕВ Юрий Маркович (р. 1928, Москва), онколог-экспериментатор и клеточный биолог. Д-р мед. наук (1960), проф. (1962), ч.-к. АН СССР (1990). Окончил 1-й Моск. мед. ин-т в 1949. Рук. лаб. механизмов канцерогенеза Онкологич. науч. ц. АМН (с 1961); проф. биол. ф-та Моск. гос. ун-та (с 1962). В теч. мн. лет совм. с математиком и биологом И.М.Гельфандом изучал механизмы движений нормальной и опухолевой клетки. Работа, впервые выявившая роль системы микротрубочек в определении направленности движений клеток (1970), признана «классической по цитированию» Ин-том научн. инф. в США.
