ТОДЕС Оскар Моисеевич (Мовшевич) (1911 – 1990, Ленинград), теплофизик. Проф. В 1930 окончил физ.-матем. ф-т Ленингр. политехн. ин-та. Работал там же и в Ин-те хим. физики АН СССР (под рук. Я.И.Френкеля и Н.Н.Семенова), позднее зав. кафедрой физики Ленингр. высш. воен. инж.-строит. уч-ща. Осн. науч. работы связаны с иссл. теплонапряженных процессов и дисперсных систем. В 1930–40 разработал теорию теплового взрыва. Один из авторов открытия явления модифицирования катализаторов разл. добавками, позволяющими создавать эффективные катализаторы окисления ряда соединений. С 1950 исследовал гидродинамику, структуру и теплообмен в кипящем слое. Разработал методы измерения структуры кипящего слоя и движения частиц в нем; создал теорию грануляции в кипящем слое, теорию протекания в нем хим. реакций.
