- СИЛКЕС Авром (р. 1918, Брест-Литовск Гродненской губ.), писатель. Окончил польскую гимназию в Варшаве. В 1939–46 – в СССР. Учился в Витебском педагогическом ин-те, в Ин-те иностр. яз. в Ташкенте. С 1946 – в Польше. Работал в архиве Еврейского ист. ин-та. Учился в Сорбонне, работал секр. в журн. «Кием» в Париже. Лит. деятельность начал в парижской газ. «Унзер штиме», публиковался в др. периодич. изд. на идише и франц. яз. В 1963 в Париже вышла кн. рассказов и очерков «А штот ойфн Буг» («Город на Буге»).
