ШЕНФЕЛЬД Макс Львович (1861, Митава Курляндской губ. – 1912, Рига), психиатр, общественный деятель. Д-р медицины (1893). Мед. образование получил в Дерптском ун-те. Работал ординатором в Рижской гор. психиатрич. больнице, имел обширную практику. В 1897 основал лечебницу для душевнобольных, ставшую вскоре одной из ведущих в России. Принимал активное участие в делах рижской еврейской общины. Выступил одним из учредителей об-ва помощи бедным больным евреям. SCHENFELD Max Lvovich (1861, Mitava, Provinz Kurland - 1912, Riga), Psychiater, Persönlichkeit des öffentlichen Lebens. Doktor der Medizin (1893). Honig. Ausbildung an der Dorpat University. Er arbeitete als Praktikant im Rigaer Gebirge. Psychiater. Krankenhaus, hatte umfangreiche Praxis. 1897 gründete er ein Krankenhaus für psychisch Kranke, das bald zu einem der führenden in Russland wurde. Er nahm aktiv an den Angelegenheiten der jüdischen Gemeinde in Riga teil. Er war einer der Gründer der Gesellschaft für Hilfe für arme kranke Juden. War Teil des Zentrums.
