- СЕГАЛ Тойбе (1860, Гродна – ?), публицист, писатель. Получила традиц. еврейское воспитание. В нач. 1880-х гг. изучала медицину в Петербурге, затем открыла в Вильне швейную мастерскую на кооператив. началах. С кон. 1880-х гг. – в США, врач в Нью-Йорке. С 1889 начала печатать в журн. «Фолкс-адвокат», газ. «Идишер-геролд» и др. ст. по соц. проблемам, врач. практике. Автор написанного под влиянием Н.Г.Чернышевского ром. «Голдочка процентщица» (Варшава, 1883; переизд. в Вильне в 1894, 1903 под назв. «Ди шейне нейтерн» («Прекрасная швея»).
