САМИНСКИЙ Лазарь (Элиэзер) Семенович (1882, Валегоцулово Одесского у. Херсонской губ. – 1959, Порт-Честер, США), композитор, дирижер, музыковед. В 1906–09 изучал математику и философию в Петерб. ун-те, одноврем. (1906–10) учился в конс. у Н.А.Римского-Корсакова и А.К.Лядова (композиция), Н.Н.Черепнина (дирижирование). В 1911–18 – в Тифлисе, преподавал в Нар. конс., дирижировал симф. оркестрами (1915–18). С 1920 – в США. Много гастролировал как дирижер и лектор, участвовал в организации амер. Фестивалей трех хоров (с 1936). Один из основателей Лиги композиторов. Во мн. своих произв. использовал элементы еврейского мелоса. Автор ряда муз.-сценич. и программных симф. произв., в основе к-рых часто лежат сюжеты ТАНАХа. Среди произв.
