ПИГИТ Илья Давидович (1851 – 1915), предприниматель, общественный деятель. Род. в караимской семье. Окончил караимскую школу, получил также светское образование. Занимался торговлей табаком и табачными изделиями. В 1891 основал в Москве торг. дом «И.Пигит и К°», владел табачной ф-кой «Дукат» (была одной из лучших в России, производила неск. дес. наименований табачных изделий), табачными магазинами в Москве, Петербурге и в др. городах, неск. табачными складами (в т. ч. три в Москве и Крыму). Продукция ф-ки отмечена наградами на Всерос. худ.-пром. выставке в Нижнем Новгороде (1896) и на Междунар. выставке в Лондоне (1908). В 1910 П. преобразовал свой торг. дом в акц. Т-во табачной ф-ки «Дукат» (до 1913 – пред. правления Т-ва) с осн. капиталом 1,5 млн. руб. (владел 1455 акциями из 1500). В Москве владел доходными домами, в т. ч. на Б.Садовой ул., 10 (1903). В нач. 1920-х гг. в нем снимал комнату М.А.Булгаков, описавший этот дом в ром. «Мастер и Маргарита». В теч. мн. лет П. анонимно оказывал значит, материальную помощь нуждающимся караимам, завещал значит. капитал на устройство караимских земледельч. колоний, выбрал и приобрел для этой цели имение близ Евпатории с 3,2 тыс. десятин пахотной земли и паровой мельницей, к-рое назвал «Имдат Пигит» («Помощь Пигита»).- identifier
