ПАЛЕЕС А. (|, Минск – после 1930), публицист, историк. Получил традиц. еврейское религ. образование. Первые ст. и стих. публиковал на рус. яз. в газ. «Сев.-Зап. мысль». В 1915–20 участвовал в работе Еврейского ист.-этногр. об-ва. По поручению Нар. комиссариата просвещения Белоруссии организовал в 1925 еврейский отд. нар. быта при Белорусском гос. музее в Минске, составил описание еврейских культ.-ист. памятников в Белоруссии. В 1928 обнаружил и обработал (совм. с Г.Александровым) архив минского кагала 1-й пол. 19 в. Публ. ст. в минской газ. «Октябер».
