ОСТРОГОРСКИЙ Моисей Яковлевич .(1852, по др. данным 1854 – 1921, Петроград), правовед, историк. Брат А.Я.Острогорского. Окончил Гродненскую гимназию и юрид. ф-т Петерб. ун-та. Слушал в Париже лекции по философии и полит. наукам. Служил в законодат. отд. департамента Мин-ва юстиции. Редактировал и издавал «Юрид. календарь М.Острогорского. Юрид. ежегодник и справочная книга для суд. деятелей» (СПб., 1878–1917). Составленная О. «Хронология всеобщей и рус. истории» в 1873–1902 выдержала св. 10 изд. Иссл. «Демократия и полит, партии» пользовалось большой популярностью и было переведено на неск. иностр. яз. Сотрудничал в журн. «Вестник Европы». В 1906 О. избран деп. 1-й Гос. Думы, где был одним из ведущих разработчиков ее Наказа, выступил с речью, в к-рой осуждал погром в Белостоке (1906). Не будучи формально чл. партии кадетов, голосовал с ее фракцией в Думе. В составе делегации Гос. Думы участвовал в междунар. конф. в Лондоне.
