В 1931 окончил киноотд-ние Ленингр. ин-та иск-в, до 1941 работал на к/ст «Ленфильм». В 1941–42 – на фронте. С 1943 реж. центр, объединения к/ст в Алма-Ате и Ашхабаде, с 1947 реж. «Ленкинохроники», с 1948 – Киевской студии уч. ф., с 1953 – к/ст им. А.П.Довженко. С 1962 преподаватель киноф-та Ин-та театр. иск-ва им. И.К.Карпенко-Карого в Киеве. Автор многочисл. сценариев, мультф. «Советская копейка» (1929), киножурн., киноочерков, док. ф.
