МИНЦ Лев Ефимович (Хаимович) (1893, Витебск – 1979, Москва), экономист, статистик. Брат С.Е.Минца. Д-р экон. наук (1966), проф. (1969). Окончил экон. отд-ние Киевского коммерч. ин-та (1914), в 1914–16 продолжил образование на с.-х. отд-нии Киевского политехн. ин-та. В 1918 работал в Моск. общегор. больничной кассе, исследовал вопросы соц. страхования, до 1919 учился в Петровской с.-х. академии. С кон. 1918 – в отд. экон. иссл. ВСНХ РСФСР, консультант Комиссии СТО по учету убытков от интервенции и Гражд. войны. В 1920–33 зав. статистич. отд. Наркомата труда РСФСР (СССР). В 1930–40-х гг. работал в статистич. органах. В 1942–47 ст. науч. сотр. Ин-та прикладной геофизики Наркомата нефт. пром-ти СССР. Проводил иссл. по методам учета убытков, понесенных страной. В 1955–63 зав. лаб. по применению экон.-матем. методов Совета по изучению производительных сил при Госплане СССР. Один из создателей Центр, экон.-матем. ин-та АН СССР (1963), в к-ром до конца жизни заведовал лаб. Преподавал в вузах Москвы. Автор работ по проблемам применения математики в экон. иссл. и практич. планировании. Впервые выявил динамику раб. силы страны за длительный период, характеризовавшие ее структуру, данные о распределении рабочих по полу, возрасту и др. признакам. Гос. пр.
