МЕНДЕЛЕВА Юлия Ароновна (1883, Стародуб Черниговской губ. – 1959, Ленинград), педиатр, организатор здравоохранения. После окончания акушерских курсов в Петербурге (1901) работала акушеркой, занималась рев. деятельностью (чл. РСДРП с 1905). В 1911 окончила Жен. мед. ин-т, работала в петерб. Обуховской больнице, затем в Смоленске, в Крыму. В 1922–25 специализировалась по педиатрии в разл. европ. клиниках. В 1925 назначена первым дир. Ин-та охраны материнства и младенчества, одноврем. зав. кафедрой соц. гигиены женщины и ребенка, созданной по ее инициативе. С 1934 М. возглавляла работу по противотуберкулезной вакцинации в Ленинграде. М. (совм. с А.Ф.Туром и Н.Г.Синявской) разработан и внедрен принцип «единого педиатра», по к-рому в настоящее время работают все дет. поликлиники России.
