ЛЕВИН Леонид Тихонович (Леон Танхелевич) (1869, Высоко-Литовск Брестского у. Гродненской губ. – 1944, Ленинград), оториноларинголог. Д-р медицины (1902). Окончил мед. ф-т ун-та в Киеве (1894); в 1896–1901 совершенствовался за границей. С 1908 доц. Клинич. ин-та усовершенствования врачей в Петербурге; с 1914 проф. Психоневрологич. ин-та, в 1917–44 зав. кафедрой оториноларингологии Петрогр. (Ленингр.) ин-та для усовершенствования врачей.Создатель школы оториноларингологов (гл. обр. хирургич. профиля). Разработал ряд хирургич. операций (в т. ч. метод общеполостной радикальной операции уха, способ вскрытия лабиринта и др.), а также инструменты для их выполнения. Л. – автор фундамент. руководства «Хирургические болезни уха и их оперативное лечение» (т. 1–2. М., 1928; 3-е изд. М., 1948). По инициативе Л. было создано Петерб. оториноларингологич. об-во (1906); Л. – один из организаторов 1-го Всерос. (1908) и 1-го Всес. (1924) съездов оториноларингологов. В теч. мн. лет редактировал «Ежемесячник ушных, носовых и горловых болезней». Засл. деятель науки РСФСР (1935).
