ЛЕВИН Иосиф Давидович (1901, Варшава – 1984, Москва), правовед, политолог, культуролог. Д-р юрид. наук (1939), проф. (1939). Окончил филос. отд-ние ист.-филол. ф-та 1-го МГУ (1922), где слушал курсы и занимался в семинарах И.А.Ильина, С.Л.Франка и Г.Г. Шпета; в 1920 участвовал в филос. и лит. (на иврите) кружках. В 1922–27 работал в Ком. академии, в 1927–83 – в Ин-те сов. стр-ва (с 1959 Ин-т гос-ва и права АН СССР), а также преподавал в МГУ. Уволен в 1949 в ходе кампании по «борьбе с космополитизмом», затем восстановлен. Л. – автор ок. 150 науч. работ (в т. ч. 10 монографий) по проблемам гос.-политич. устройства, нац. и межгос. отношений на заруб. Востоке, учебника «Гос. право бурж. стран» (1962), сост. и ред. сб. «Конституции гос-в Бл. и Ср. Востока» (1956), ред. коллективных монографий «Империалистич. гос-во и капиталистич. хозяйство» (1963), «Конституц. механизм диктатуры монополий» (1964) и др.Филос. система Л. формировалась в 1920–50-х гг. и сложилась в 1960–70-х гг. Филос. тр. Л. («Метафизика», «Философия иск-ва», «Этика» и «О культуре»), не опубликованные при жизни, работы о рос. еврействе («О еврействе» и «Записки сумасшедшего»), а также филос. автобиография «Шестой план» вошли в соч.
