ЛАВУТ Павел Ильич (1898, Александровск Екатеринославской губ. – 1979, Москва), литератор. Сын купца первой гильдии, владельца книжного магазина и маленькой типографии. Окончил коммерч. уч-ще (1918). В нач. 1920-х гг. был актером, разъезжал с т-рами по разл. городам. Затем работал администратором, организатором гастрольных поездок, в частности, многочисл. турне В.В.Маяковского по стране. Организовывал лит. вечера в клубе МГУ и Союзе писателей. Открыл платный лекторий МГУ и привлек к участию в нем видных ученых и деятелей культуры.
