КОРСУНСКИЙ Моисей Израилевич (1903, Ростов-на-Дону – 1976, Алма-Ата), физик. Д-р физ.-матем. наук (1941), проф. (1944), акад. АН КазССР (1962). Окончил Ленингр. политехн. ин-т (1926), затем работал в Ленингр. физ.-техн. ин-те. Один из создателей Сиб. физ.-техн. ин-та в Томске (1929), где организовал рентгеновскую, а затем ядерную лаб. Одноврем. преподавал в Томском ун-те. В 1934–38 зав. лаб. одного из НИИ в Ленинграде и одноврем. и.о. проф. на кафедре эксперим. физики Ленингр. индустр. ин-та. В 1938–52 зав. лаб. ударных напряжений АН УССР (Харьков), к-рая в 1939 влилась в Харьковский физ.-техн. ин-т. Одноврем. (с 1944) проф. и зав. кафедрой в Ин-те цементов. В 1952–62 зав. кафедрой Харьковского политехн. ин-та. С 1962 рук. Отд. физики тв. тела и полупроводников Ин-та ядерной физики АН КазССР (Алма-Ата).Науч. тр. по ядерной физике, физике тв. тела и физике полупроводников. Выяснил возможность построения электростатич. и магн. анализаторов отклоняющего типа с большой разрешающей способностью. Выполнил цикл иссл. по применению многозарядных ионов в ядерной физике. Предложил модель электронной структуры переходных металлов и их сплавов. Изучал фотоэлектрич. свойства селена и открыл, что его фотопроводимость зависит только от длины волны и не зависит от интенсивности падающего света. Глава науч. школы.
