КОГАН Шулим Меерович (р. 1930, Четатя-Албэ, Румыния), физик. Д-р физ.-матем. наук (1969), проф. (1983). После окончания Уральского ун-та в Свердловске (1953) преподавал физику в ср. школе. В 1956–59 аспирант МГУ. С 1959 работал в Ин-те радиотехники и электроники АН СССР (с 1980 зав. лаб.). Одноврем. преподавал в МФТИ и МГУ. С 1992 работает в Лос-Аламосе (США).Обл. науч. интересов – теория флуктуац. явлений (шумов), фотопроводимость тв. тел, фототермич. ионизация, спектроскопия. Построил (совм. с А.Я.Шульманом) теорию квазиклассич. флуктуации в неравновесных газах, содержащих горячие электроны, и развил общий метод вычисления корреляц. функций в этих системах. Предсказал, что спектр равновесного магн. шума в спиновых стеклах обратно пропорционален частоте. Развил теорию низкочастотных флуктуации сопротивления, вызываемых перескоком дефектов. Построил теорию шумов в слабосвязанных сверхпроводниках. Разработал (совм. с Т.М.Лифшицем и Ф.Я.Надем) методы фототермической спектроскопии. Ввел понятие тензора фотопроводимости и построил (совм. с Ю.С.Гальперном) теорию анизотропной фотопроводимости в однородных проводниках с изотропными диэлект-рич. проницаемостью и проводимостью.
