КОБЗОН Иосиф Давидович (р. 1937, Часов Яр Днепропетровской обл.), эстрадный певец. Проф. (1992). Окончил Днепропетровский горный техникум (1956). В армии служил в Анс. песни и пляски Закавк. воен. окр. В 1958–63 учился (окончил в 1973) в Гос. муз.-пед. ин-те им. Гнесиных. В 1959–62 солист Всес. радио, с 1963 – Москонцерта. Первые пр. на Междунар. фестивалях эстрадной песни в Сопоте (Польша, 1964) и «Золотой Орфей» (Болгария, 1968), на Междунар. конкурсе эстрадной песни (Будапешт, 1966). Много гастролировал в СССР и за рубежом. Исполнение К. отличается сдержанной, благородной, искренней манерой, что привлекает мн. комп., доверивших ему первое исполнение своих песен. Среди них – А.Н.Пахмутова, А.И.Островский, Я.А.Френкель, Э.С.Колмановский, М.Л.Таривердиев. К. постоянно исполняет в концертах еврейские нар. песни. Первый исполнитель цикла О.Б.Фелъцмана «Песни былого» (четыре еврейские песни на нар. тексты). С 1984 худ. рук. вок.-эстрадного отд-ния Гос. муз.-пед. ин-та им. Гнесиных, где с 1985 преподает. В 1990-е гг. занялся предпринимательской и благотворит. деятельностью – возглавляет коммерч. фирму «Московит» (постоянный спонсор Моск. камерного муз. т-ра под руководством Б.А.Покровского).
