КЛУПТ Вениамин Соломонович (1897, Баку – 1963, Ленинград), экономист. Д-р экон. наук (1939). Окончил экон. ф-т Ленингр. политехн. ин-та (1928), преподавал в Ленингр. финанс.-экон. ин-те (проф., с 1933 зав. кафедрой экон. географии), вел занятия по экон. географии и в др. вузах города. Воспитал ряд изв. в последующем преподавателей и ученых. В 1930-х гг. подвергался преследованиям как «геополитик», последователь своего учителя В.Э.Дена, а в 1949–52 как «космополит».В своих работах К. доказывал принадлежность экон. географии к числу соц.-экон. наук, обосновывал примат экон. подхода к трактовке вопросов районирования: «Закавказье» (М. – Л., 1927), «Украина» (М. – Л., 1928). Теоретико-методич. и практич. характер имела его работа «Затопление при крупном гидростр-ве» (Л., 1934, совм. с М.Б.Вольфом. Совм. с Вольфом составил «Статистич. справочник по экон. географии капиталистич. мира», выдержавший четыре изд. (Л., 1934–59).
