ГУРВИЧ Хаим Хайкиль (ок. 1750 – 1822, Умань Киевской губ.), деятель евр. просвещения. В нач. 19 в. пер. на идиш и изд. в Бердичеве кн. Кампе «Открытие Америки», к-рая пользовалась огромной популярностью в среде рос. евреев. Позднее пер. и изд. эту работу на др.-евр. В теч. мн. лет поддерживал дружеские отношения с караимским ученым Исааком, оказывал ему моральную поддержку в период обрушившихся на него гонений со стороны религ. ортодоксов.
