ГУРВИЧ Александр Матвеевич (Моисеевич) (1909, Симферополь Таврической губ. – 1963, Ленинград), специалист в обл. теплотехники, котлостроения, д-р техн. наук (1940), проф. с 1945. Окончил в 1930 Ленингр. политехн. ин-т. Работал в Центральном н.-и. проектно-конструкторском ин-те им. И.И.Ползунова, в 1934—63 зав. лаб. лучистого теплообмена. Одновременно с 1934 преподавал в Ленингр. политехн. ин-те, где в 1946 – организовал кафедру теоретич. основ теплотехники и до 1956 был зав. кафедрой. Осн. работы связаны с созданием котельно-топочной техники, расчетом теплообмена в топочных камерах, иссл. слоевых топок и топочных устройств. Руководил разработкой нормативного метода тепловых расчетов, созданием и внедрением принципиально новых конструкций котлов, беспровальной цепной решетки, участвовал в разработке норм теплового расчета котельных установок.Соч.: Цепные механические топки.
