ГОЛАНТ Виктор Евгеньевич (1928, Ленинград – 2008, Петербург), физик. Д.ч. АН СССР (1990), ч.-к. АН СССР (1986). Сын Е.Я.Голанта. В 1950 окончил физико-механич. ф-т Ленингр. политехн. ин-та (ЛПИ). 1950–56 в ОКБ з-да «Светлана» (Ленинград). Занимался теорией сверхвысокочастотного газ. Разряда и ее техн. приложениями. С 1958 начал работать в Физико-техн. ин-те им. А.Ф.Иоффе (ФТИ); с 1968 – зав. лаб. физики плазмы. С 1987 – дир. Отд. физики плазмы, атомной физики и астрофизики ФТИ. Одноврем. с 1956 – доц., а с 1967 – проф. ЛПИ. В 1989 возглавил в нем кафедру физики плазмы, к-рой заведует и в наст. время. Гл. ред. «Ж. техн. физики» (с 1987).Основные работы в обл. физики плазмы и управляемого термоядерного синтеза. Предложил и осуществил ряд новых методов диагностики плазмы, осн. на взаимодействии с ней электромагн. волн (радиолокация плазмы, рассеяние, поглощение и излучение электромагн. волн, плазмой). Иссл. диффузию плазмы в сильном магн. поле и взаимодействие волн разл. типа с плазмой в таком поле. Принимал участие в программе эксперим. иссл. плазмы на токамаках. Разработал новые методы нагрева и сжатия плазмы и методы подавления аномальной диффузии и теплопроводности в ней. Гос. пр.
