ГИРШМАН Яков Моисеевич (р. 1913, Чита – 1990, Казань), музыковед, педагог, профессор (1985), канд. иск-ведения (1963). В 1934–38 учился в муз. уч-ще им. Гнесиных в Москве. Участник войны 1941–45. В 1947 окончил историко-теоретич. ф-т Моск. конс. (по специальности история музыки у В.Э.Фермана). Переселился в Казань, с 1948 – преподаватель и зав. кафедрой истории музыки Казанской конс. Внес большой вклад в развитие татарской культуры. Воспитал целое поколение музыковедов Татарии. Впервые разработал программу курса истории татарской музыки. Наиб. значительные науч. тр. Г. посвящены иссл. ладовой структуры татарского мелоса, а также анализу творчества ведущих комп. Татарии: «Пентатоника и ее развитие в татарской музыке» (М., 1960), «С.Сайдашев» (на тат. яз. – Казань, 1956; на рус. яз. – М., 1957), «Н.Жиганов» (М., 1957), «Творчество комп.
