И.Е.Репина, в мастерскую А.Т.Матвеева, к-рую закончил после 2-й мир. войны в 1947. В кон. 1940-х гг. созд. портретные работы из мрамора (бюст А.А.Блока) и фарфора («А.С.Пушкин на коне»). Участие в реставрации интерьеров и фонтанов Петергофа способствовало развитию интереса Г. к монумент, формам. Среди этапных для Г. работ: композиции «Через Сиваш» (1963–65, известняк) и «Хорал» (1975, металл), гр. «Пушкин и Кипренский» (1980, бронза) и др. Die Teilnahme an der Restaurierung von Innenräumen und Brunnen von Peterhof trug zur Entwicklung des Interesses von G. an Denkmälern und Formen bei. Zu den Meilensteinen für G.
