В 1954–56 зав. хирургич. отделением больницы в Алтайском крае. С 1956 в Москве, работал во 2-м, а затем в 1-м мед. ин-тах; с 1964 рук. лаб. искусств, оксигенации, а с 1966 – отд. гипербарич. оксигенации Всес. н.-и. ин-та клинич. и эксперимент. хирургии (с 1980 Всес. науч. ц. хирургии).Осн. науч. тр. посв. изучению механизмов воздействия высокого давления кислорода на функц. системы и структуры организма, а также различным аспектам электрофизиологии и анестезиологии. Один из авторов оригинального метода обезболивания – послеоперационного наркоза закисью азота. Разработал принципиально новый способ т. н. парапульмональной оксигенации организма с помощью микроэмульсии кислорода. Иссл. Е. способствовали созданию комплекса мед. барокамер для гипербарич. оксигенации. Гос. пр.
