ДРЕЙ Михаил Иванович (Ионатанович) (1860, Одесса – 1940, Москва), революционер-народоволец, мемуарист, библиограф. Сын врача, выходца из Германии. В кон. 1870-х гг. учился в гимназиях Одессы и Бердянска, в 1880 сдал экзамен на аттестат зрелости в Полтаве и поступил на юрид. ф-т Новорос. у-та (Одесса). С кон. 1870-х гг. участник рев.-народнич. кружков на Ю. России, с 1880 чл. одесской гр. «Народной воли», вел рев. пропаганду в рабочих кружках. Арестован 30.9.1881, в апр. 1883 приговорен к 15 годам каторги (по прошению отца срок сокращен до 6 лет). Содержался в Карийской каторжной тюрьме в Забайкалье, с 1888 на поселении в Забайкальской обл., с 1892 – в Чите. В 1900 вернулся в Европ. часть России и вскоре уехал за границу, продолжил образование в ун-тах Мюнхена и Гейдельберга. В 1911 вернулся в Россию, работал в изд-вах «Задруга» и М. и С.Сабашниковых (Москва), после окт. 1917 – в Коммунистич. акад. Чл. Об-ва быв. политкаторжан и ссыльнопоселенцев, ред. ряда его изданий. Д. составил и издал «Опыт указателя лит-ры по истории партии «Народная воля» («Вестник Коммунистич. академии», 1925, №12; то же с дополнениями – «Каторга и ссылка», 1929, №1–4) и «Опыт библ. указ. лит-ры по истории рев. движения 70-х гг.
